Shared Risk ® 100% Refund Program:
Donor Egg Program
The Shared Risk® Refund Program is an option to pre-pay for up to
three fresh IVF cycles and three frozen embryo transfers in advance,
with the right to have all of your pre-payment returned to you if
you do not deliver a baby.
The Shared Risk® Refund Program is administered by IntegraMed®, a national corporation
providing infertility services to patients and infertility clinics.
IntegraMed® has chosen certain clinics around the country with high
success rates and allowed those clinics to offer this program to
their patients. IntegraMed® reviews your individual history, accepts
you into the program, and holds your pre-payment until you deliver a
baby in which case it keeps your payment.
If you undergo the contracted number of cycles without delivering
a baby, IntegraMed® returns 100% of your pre-payment. You may
withdraw from the program at any time prior to the contracted number
of cycles and still have 100% of your pre-payment returned. By the
same token, IntegraMed® may refuse to pay for further contracted
cycles, in which case you still are entitled to a 100% return of
your pre-payment.
Essentially this is an insurance program whereby patients who
conceive early in the process pay more than they would have if they
had chosen Fee for Service. The additional payment goes to those who
do not get pregnant and receive a 100% refund, or to pay for the
treatment cycles of those who get pregnant later in the process.
